Our Heart
Our desire for the students at Trinity is to connect through Christ-centered relationships, to grow in their everyday walk with Christ, to serve Christ with the gifts that he has blessed them with, and to share their faith story with those who are far from God.
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12
God has called our students to be a community of faith and to make a difference in the lives of our families, schools, and communities because of Christ’s love. This is what our heart beats for!
Visiting our High School and Middle School Ministries
The High School and Middle School ministries both meet in the Youth Loft. The stairway leading up to the Youth Loft can be found in our church commons area. If you are visiting for the first time, we would love to show you around our youth ministry area. Feel free to contact Karl Winkler, Director of Christian Education at kwinkler@tlctyler.org .

High School Ministry
Our High School ministry is designed for students who are in 9th – 12th grade. We desire for each of our students to know the power of the gospel which is the love of Jesus Christ. The best avenue for the gospel is through relationships. We accomplish this through weekly small group Bible studies, weekend youth events, monthly service projects, retreats, youth gatherings, and mission trips. We focus on having a faith community where a student can grow in their relationship with Christ and be challenged to use their gifts to spread the message of Christ.
Sunday Morning Focus
Our Sunday Morning Focus happens every Sunday during our Discipleship Hour (9:50 - 10:50 AM). This one hour class is filled with fellowship and discussion as we work our way through books of the Bible looking at how God’s story is our story.
Wednesday Night Bible Study
Our High school students gather Wednesday nights for games, service projects, and to dive into God’s word as we take a deeper look at some of the issues high school students face.
Friday Night Live
Each month we have a fellowship activity. This activity could be going out to Tyler State Park, Hurricane Harbor, Christmas Party, Bonfire Night, Movie Night, or even a Lock-In at church. Each month is exciting and different. We encourage youth to bring friends and let these activities be an outreach to fellow students who do not know the love of Christ.
Large Events
Mission Trips - Each year we take a weeklong mission trip. These trips are designed to help people in need, share the love of Christ with them, and provide a time of spiritual growth for everyone involved. In the past we have served on Indian reservations, small towns like Bayou La Batre, AL and large urban cities like Nashville, TN.
Retreats - Each year we take several three-day retreats in where we ride horses, play late night games, capture the flag, go camping and learn how God is working in and through our lives. Each retreat we go on has a different theme depending on where God is leading us.

Middle School Ministry
Our Middle School ministry is designed for students who are in 5th – 8th grade. Weekly small group Bible study, Pre-Confirmation, Confirmation, weekend youth events, monthly service projects, retreat and mission trips are some of our programs offered.
Confirmation
Is a class designed for 7th and 8th graders to help them gain a deeper understanding of their faith leading to the confirmation of their baptism. Learn more about Confirmation HERE.
Pre-Confirmation
For our 5th & 6th graders, we use action-oriented games, lessons and role-playing to gain a deeper understand of God's Word and what it means for our lives. Learn more HERE.
Sunday School
Middle School Sunday School is offered every week from 9:50 - 10:50 AM for students in 5th – 8th grade. This small group curriculum is relational, parent-involved, and encourages students in faith dialogue with each other and at home. We meet upstairs in the Youth Loft.
Mission Trips
Each year we participate in a Hometown Mission Trip where we serve people right here in Tyler. Our Hometown Mission Trip is designed to help people in need, share the love of Christ with them, and provide a time of spiritual growth for everyone involved. This past year we partnered with PATH, Salvation Army, Goodwill, Keep Tyler Beautiful and the East Texas Food Bank. We served others by painting houses, sorting can goods, picking up trash and feeding the homeless.
Camp Timberline
Each year we take a three day retreat where we ride horses, play late night games, capture the flag, and learn how God is working in and through our lives.
Friday Night Lives
Middle school students also participate in a monthly fellowship activity, varying from on-site events like Christmas Parties, or off-site to a movie or lake day.
