In The Heights

As the holiday season rolls around, we are all caught up in the busyness of life. ‘I have to make sure everything is ready for the in-laws, I have to make sure my child has the coolest trick-or-treat costume, I have to make sure the presents are just right, I have to cook the Thanksgiving turkey to perfection, I have to, I have to, I have to…’ We put so much stock in our own abilities that it is easy to be trapped in the heights. We become the only ones who can do things the right way. We place ourselves above others, even God. However, Jesus calls us down from our lofty towers so that He can take our place. He does the things that we cannot do. He gives us the peace that we cannot find ourselves. And He gives the ultimate salvation that we cannot reach no matter how high we climb. Because of this, you and are called to “hurry and get down” so that we can serve others while Christ continually serves us!
