Look Out | Mission in our World

Jesus teaches about the greatest commandments by summarizing the Ten Commandments. The first three have to do with our relationship with God. This is reflected in our “Look Up” emphases: Nourished in Worship and Anchored in God’s Word. The next seven commandments have to do with our relationship with others; how we love and serve our neighbor. This is our God-given mission, because it is the mission of Jesus and we are his body! It is reflected in our “Look In” emphasis, as we join Jesus in loving our neighbors within the congregation. The same mission is reflected in this series’ “Look Out” emphasis, as we join Jesus in loving our neighbors outside our congregation, in our communities and around the world. The bottom line? To walk the way of Jesus we need to share the hope we have in Him so others can know Him too – He grows His Kingdom through us.
