Through our Lord Jesus Christ, God has made each of us to be His children, members of His forever family. What we learn from our earthly experience is that families are not always (perhaps even rarely) unified; disagreement and disharmony often stain the fabric of the earthly family. But this is not to be true of the family of God. Jesus wants His church to be unified in truth and in purpose, working for unity among the body of Christ “for the sake of the Gospel” until He comes again.
