Topic: Faith Passage: Isaiah 51:1–6, Romans 11:33– 12:8, Matthew 16:13–20
"Part One" of the two scenes (this Sunday and next Sunday) from Matthew 16: Jesus asks, "Who do you say that I am?" We are to confess with our mouths that Jesus is more than a mere teacher, healer, or helper. The Father Himself gives us the Spirit to confess that Jesus is the one and only "Anointed One", the living God in the flesh who is the only Savior from sin, death, and damnation. (But this confession, we'll see next week, means more than mere words from our mouths!)
