When "Luke Alone Is with Me"

October 18, 2020 Series: Grace and Goodness

Topic: Faith Passage: Psalm 147:1–11, Isaiah 35:5–8, 2 Timothy 4:5–18, 1 Corinthians 10:1–9

The work of the Savior is summarized all through the Scriptures as "healing".  We hear it predicted today in Isaiah 35, and we see Jesus fulfill this prophecy in Luke 10 as His kingdom draws near with healing for the sick.  The Savior's healing is of course the forgiveness of our deadly sin and the restoration of our eternal life with God.  He also provides healing in this life as evidence of His eternal salvation, and Luke 10 shows that the Savior does this through those who follow Him.  Luke the physician is a great example of devotion to Christ's healing ministry, and October 18 on the church calendar is the special day we thank God for this evangelist and constant co-worker of the Apostle Paul.
