The King's House
Series: Prepare, Ye Topic: Faith Passage: 2 Samuel 7:1–11, Romans 16:25–27, Luke 1:26–38
King David prayed that God would allow him to build a temple for the Lord. But David's priorities and perspectives were skewed - he had built his own house first before prioritizing Yahweh and His house. God's grace always turns the tables on our sin and selfishness. The "houses" we build in this life don't last. So God promises, "No, I will build the house for you - forever!" The temple which David did build and the earthly reign of his dynasty which God did bless still did not endure. But the "house" God built through David's seed, Jesus the Anointed One, does endure. Despite your skewed priorities and the failure of all temporary treasures, the King's grace and glory reigns for you again today . . . forever!
