Redemption and Ressurrection

March 7, 2021 Series: The Covenant Fulfilled

Topic: Faith Passage: Exodus 20:1–17, 1 Corinthians 1:18–31, John 2:13–25

Where do you find righteousness?  People often look at their keeping of God's commandments as the way they are "right" with God.  But God's perfect Law always condemns us in our sin - every commandment broken by sins of commission (evil things we do) and sins of omission (good things we neglect).  The "Ten Commandments", however, were not given for the Israelites to earn their status with God.  They were ALREADY redeemed by the blood of the Lamb before they arrived at Mount Sinai!  Jesus wants you to see your righteousness first and only in Him - His perfect obedience in your place, His atoning death covering your sin, His resurrection proving His authority over death and damnation.  Then see how to show this GIFT of righteousness in your thankful keeping of God's commands!
