Forgiveness with a Following

Series: The Covenant Fulfilled Topic: Faith Passage: Jeremiah 31:31–34, Hebrews 5:1–10, Mark 10:35–45

One of the most astounding expressions of our God's saving covenant is in Jeremiah 31:34, where He promises, "I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more."  How can the omniscient God "forget" your sin?  The only way is by the power of His own grace placing something greater between His holiness and your sin, by a divine payment for your sin so awesome that even God's awesome mind is wiped clean of your guilt.  "I have come," Jesus said in Mark 10:45, "to give my life as a ransom (this ransom!) for many!"
