How many different ways can you use the word “bread”? . . . “A slice of bread!” “That’s my bread and butter!” “She’s the breadwinner in that family!” “Give us this day our daily bread.” When the Israelites saw heavenly bread on the ground, they exclaimed, “What is it?” What IS real bread? Jesus provides the answer in today’s Holy Gospel: “I am the Bread of Life!” It’s Jesus who is your most basic food, and only Jesus gives you life, eternal life. By His atoning and forgiving grace God lovingly feeds you again today!
