John’s baptism is a baptism of repentance, for the forgiveness of sin. Jesus’ obedience, and John’s cooperation with God’s plan, is a foreshadowing of the full work of Christ in his life, death, and resurrection. Thus it is also a foreshadowing of our incorporation into Christ’s life, death, and resurrection through Trinitarian baptism. Have you and your household been baptized?
