The Good Life Is the Gospel Bearing Fruit  

• Big Idea: The Gospel is growing and spreading among the believers in Colossae because of their faith, love, and hope, on account of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  

• Law: The “Good Life” isn’t self-focused. It’s the Gospel of Jesus manifest in the lives of His Forever Family, the Church.  

• Gospel: Jesus has rescued us!

• Application: Paul prays that the Church might: 

• Be filled with the knowledge of God’s will through wisdom and understanding given by the Holy Spirit 

• Subsequently live a life worthy of the Lord and pleasing to Him3 

• Scriptures: 

• Leviticus 19:9-18 – “Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the Lord your God.” 

• Colossians 1:1-14 – The Gospel has come to the Colossians. Now, it is “bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world.”  

• Luke 10:25-37 – “Who is my neighbor?”4
