Atypical Family - Week 1 - April 26

April 24, 2020 Series: Atypical Family

Passage: Genesis 2–4

In one word, how would you describe your family? Loud? Crazy? Fun? Dysfunctional? However you describe it, there's one thing your family is not: normal! No family is normal because no family is perfect — including the families we read about in the Bible. The first family ever was Adam and Eve and their sons Cain and Abel. While this family's story began with hope and promise, it became a story of failure, betrayal, jealousy, anger, and even murder. But that's not the end of their story! God used this family to eventually bring Jesus into the world. What a reminder that imperfect, not-so-typical families can be used by God to do great things. God never gave up on Adam and Eve's family, and He's never giving up on your family either.
