Passage: Hebrews 13:1–17, Luke 14:1–14

We find meaning as baptized, beloved, believing members of the body of Christ. There
are two kinds of sacrifice – Jesus’ atoning sacrifice for our sins, and the sacrifice of thanks and praise offered by the people of God who have been forgiven by God’s grace. The first half of the text in Hebrews calls us to action as a sacrifice of praise. The second half reminds us why we respond in this way: Because of Jesus’ atoning sacrifice!
