feast your eyes

Something happens when we sit and eat with each other: the initial conditions for a revelation of truth are set. Think of a date, or making a new friend, or getting to know the new pastor, or catching with someone not seen for a while. How often has a meal been a path to deeper revelation, deeper communion, and even forgiveness! How often a meal ignored leaves things unfinished, unclear, unresolved. When has God revealed something to you at a time you did not expect it? Like a meal. Jesus opened the Scriptures to these disciples, but they did not realize what they were being taught until God revealed it to them.
