Love In the Ruins

Collapsing temples, dangerous desert highways, and life in exile far from home: These images of architecture and landscape in our Advent texts reflect the distance we often experience in our relationship with God. These Scriptures invite us to grieve that distance, and to long for something better. But they also call our attention to the ways in which God is at work to bridge the gap between us, sustain and protect us in the wilderness, and to lead us again into communion with Himself, humanity, and the whole creation.
