The Grace of Being Generous

March 24, 2019 Series: Character Under Construction

Topic: Character Passage: Deuteronomy 15:7–11, 2 Corinthians 8:1–9, Mark 12:41–43

If you have ever listened to Dave Ramsey's radio program on financial peace, you may have heard listeners call in so they can shout on-air, "We're debt free!" Ramsey rejoices with each and every family that has reached this milestone. Then he is quick to remind his listeners they have learned to save more so they are able to give more. How much more does this hold true for sinners washed in the blood of our Lord Jesus, cleansed and forgiven of our sin? In a very different sense, we can shout, "We're debt free!" and know we are set free from sin to give generously out of the abundance of the blessings of God in Christ Jesus.
