He Descended into Hell! - The Sixth Sunday of Easter

Why did Jesus live the perfect life required of you, die with atonement for all sins, descend into hell, rise from the dead, and ascend into heaven? One way to put it is that He did all these saving works to . . . bring all people back to God! As we approach the days we celebrate Christ's ascension (this Thursday) and the pouring of the Spirit on Pentecost (two Sundays from now), Christ is still guaranteeing God's Spirit is with you with the grace of His purifying forgiveness and His bold strength to show forth the love He has shown you.
