Breathe!

Topic: Faith Passage: Psalm 139:1–12, Ezekiel 37:1–14, Acts 2:1–21

If you had to pick the three biggest days on the church calendar, they might be Christmas, Easter, and . . . this Sunday!  Pentecost was originally an Old Testament festival – Shavuoth, the feast of “Weeks”, also called “First Fruits” or “Ingathering” in the Bible.  It was (and is for Jews today) a celebration of the beginnings of the grain harvest.  Fifty days after Christ’s resurrection, the worshipers in Jerusalem celebrated the real Harvest from God – the Holy Spirit poured upon Christ’s followers!  3,000 people were baptized!  The harvest of the saved began!  And the harvest continues today . . .
