Groaning and Guarantee

June 13, 2021 Series: Pentacost

Topic: Faith Passage: Ezekiel 14:22–24, 2 Corinthians 5:1–10, Mark 4:26–34

So often in Scripture we see God's Kingdom described in terms of horticulture.  Indeed, by the Savior Jesus Christ, the Lord is restoring the Garden we lost!  Psalm 1 today describes life in the Word as being "like a tree planted by streams of water", and we hear in Ezekiel 17 today how God found His people like a tender twig, then grew them into a noble cedar.  Jesus told parables about trees, fields, vineyards, a sower, seed - two of which we hear today from Mark 4. This month's worship series, however, focuses on 2 Corinthians, where we hear today our own groans for God's guaranteed perfection in the midst of this imperfection around us and in us.  That's "Life in this Pentecostal Church"!
