On All Saints Sunday, we give thanks for the Saints – both those in the Church Militant,
and those in the Church Triumphant. We reflect on the promise of resurrection life that is ours in Christ Jesus. Our texts begin at the heights of Mount Horeb, where God calls Moses down to Egypt to deliver his people out of slavery and into the Promised Land. They end with Jesus, who has come down from the heights of heaven to save people from the slavery of sin, reminding us that he is the God of the Living. In Christ Jesus, we will live eternally in God’s Promised Land.
