Do you know the meaning of the name of the shoe company, Nike?  It's in the promise we hear today from 1 John 4:  "Little children, you are from God and have overcome!"  Overcome what?  Overcome how?  Overcome why?  The answer to the last questions is surely "Jesus!" risen from the dead.  Revelation 12:11 tells us that we have conquered "by the blood of the Lamb and by the Word".  Our "nike" is not tying on some special tennis shoes.  It's being tied to Jesus Christ!  We hear the Savior again today:  "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."
