Return of the King
November 26, 2023 Pastor: John Scheusner Series: Ultimate Authority: Leaders, Laws, Corruption, and Grace
Just as this series began with a King, the last sermon also ends with a King. A King who is now on His throne in glory! On the final day, the King will separate those who are blessed by the Father and those who are cursed. Those who are blessed are called to take their inheritance, the kingdom of God. But those who are cursed are told to depart in the eternal flame. While this text points to the works of the sheep, the works are not what gets them into the Kingdom, but the blessing from the Father. The works only come out of the blessing. The goats on the other hand are not blessed by the Father and do not do any works. The authority that the King has is over all people and all creation. The only way that any of us have a chance of inheriting the kingdom is not
based on our works, but it is on Jesus and His Kingly Authority.
